Several members of the eagle-i team attended the 3rd Annual VIVO Conference, August 22-24th, 2012 in Miami, Florida. The conference was an opportunity for eagle-i members to meet with their VIVO counterparts, learn about developments in the project, and connect with prominent experts in Semantic Web and Linked Open Data. eagle-i team member Paul Thompson from Dartmouth College presented a paper written with Suzanne Thompson, also with eagle-i at Dartmouth College (abstract on page 36 in the conference program). The paper, “Experiments with Machine-Assisted Curation for eagle-i” discussed Paul and Suzanne’s experiments with automated entry of instrument records into eagle-i from full-text publications of participating researchers.
